FAQ #5: Submission Frequency

Question: How often can I submit articles for distribution?

Answer: You can submit as many articles as you want, as often as you want. However, I have always suggested that one should not distribute more than two articles per writer, per week, and per topic.

Let me explain. Each writer should only consider submitting two articles per week, unless they are writing on more than one topic. If you write articles on more than one topic --- each topic aimed to a different audience --- then you should limit yourself to two articles per topic, per week.

With that having been said, I do have clients that submit three and five articles per week, every week. It works for their needs. I have even submitted as many as five of my own articles per week, to good success.

The main thing we are considering here is target saturation. If you send out five of the best articles in your arsenal during the course of a single week, you might be minimizing the chances of publication for all of your five articles. After all, the average publisher only publishes one or two articles per week, and they will not want to make their ezine a pulpit for only one writer... Even if that writer provides top-notch content every time out.

If you are only putting out two articles per month, then you should limit yourself to send one article every two weeks. Also, for the same reasons given above.

For my clients for whom I do more than one article in a calendar week, I make it a point to spread those articles out over the course of the week. I will never submit two articles for one writer in one day, unless of course if the writer requests that I do so.

Most of my clients distribute one article per week. I have a few clients for whom I distribute five per week. I have one client that does ten per week.

The main point above all others is that you should make a determination as to how frequently you will develop new articles. Consistency of articles is far more important than volume of content.

When you send me a bulk of articles, I will find out from you how often you want me to distribute those articles. And then we will schedule your distributions over an appropriate calendar window.
