FAQ #26: Please Clarify the Nature of Your Distribution Program.Question: I just want to clarify the nature of your program.< You actually only send out the articles to a list of 40 lists - and then from there the 12,000-15,000 or so publishers access them ->..... is that how it works?This was unclear - on the site it sounded like you have a database of these thousands of publishers and you send to them directly to each publisher. Just wanted to clarify the facts. Answer: Your assessment is mostly accurate. Let me break this down in a way that is completely accurate. My database contains 215 article distribution groups on each of the main list servers. I personally own 100+ article distribution groups on YahooGroups. I personally own 5 article distribution groups on Topica. I personally own 21 article distribution groups on Google Groups. I personally own 1 article distribution group on Freelists.org . I personally own 11 article distribution groups on MSN Groups. I personally own 4 article distribution groups on SmartGroups. I personally own and manage more than 100 of the 215 groups that I submit articles to. I pay for advertising to keep the lists that I own growing. I build doorway pages and write articles to put more advertising in play to build the size of the article distribution groups I own. Of these groups, there are three that only accept articles from me. The articles distributed to these three groups are all of the articles distributed by me. The remaining 100 or so groups that I own, plus the 100 or so that I do not own are divided between 38 groups that accept articles on all topics and 177 groups that accept tightly focused niche articles. For the niche articles, I read every article that I submit to make sure that they go to the maximum number of relative and pertinent niche article groups. I also submit to 5 publishers directly who own very large ezines. Further, I submit articles to up to 8 website article archives based on the content of the articles, as each of these sites only accept articles on specific topics. I also on occasion have sent specific articles directly to specific publishers whom I know personally to make the suggestion for publication. When I contact these publishers directly, they know that the article they receive will likely be a perfect fit for their specific needs. --- The 38 groups that accept ALL articles from me are the basis of my advertised 17,000 publishers and webmasters. The reach of the remaining 177 article distribution groups has not been calculated into the numbers, since not all articles go to all of those groups. In your case, when your article went out, it went to 11 niche groups and 29 global groups for a total of 40 groups reached. The reach of the website article archives has also not been calculated into the numbers I advertise. --- I never submit an article to a group that does not accept your kind of content, and I always try to reach the maximum number of groups. There are three primary reasons why people purchase my service: I do so by sending a single email to each group --- I do not send carbon copies or blind carbon copies which are prohibited by some groups. And I will always hit the most appropriate targeted niche content groups on an everyday basis. --- It is true that you could easily duplicate my service on your own. It is also true that you could probably figure out which of the 215 article groups where I distribute articles, and the 8 website archives where I distribute articles. What is difficult to do is to be able to do these things in as little time as it takes me to do them for you. And, it is difficult to get the kind of results that I get for my clients on a consistent everyday basis. Publishers have come to know and trust my program, and might even give more attention to the articles I distribute.
