FAQ #24: Writer's Compensation
Question: Do your articles just go to nonpaying magazines, or can I expect some compensation for my work?
Answer: I actually get this question quite frequently.
The articles I submit to publishers are generally
used as promotional articles for my client's online
businesses. My client's do not get paid for publication,
instead they get a host of free and effective
advertising for their websites.
My client writer's do not directly get paid for their
articles, they get paid indirectly when people
buy their products and services.
If you are looking for places where you can sell
your work outright, you should check out some of
these resources:
http://www.writersmarket.com/ and
http://sellwritingonline.com/ and
http://www.writersdigest.com/
Also be sure to read their advice on how to sell your
article and read about what rights must be given up
when you sell your articles.
All of these resources may help you to find publishers
interested in purchasing your article.
If you are looking to be paid directly for your articles
by a publisher, then the market you are looking at getting
into is a different market than I serve.
If you have any other questions, I will be happy to
answer them for you if I can.
