Written by: Dr. Joseph J. Berke | Distributed: 2004-09-14 |
Suffering from neck, back and shoulder pain? If you are, you're in good company. Millions of people wake up every morning and endure every day experiencing pain in their necks, backs and shoulders. While neck, back and shoulder pain used to be thought of as conditions affecting only adults, due to more parents scheduling routine doctors visits for their kids, it's becoming increasingly apparent that children and teenagers are also suffering from the symptoms. So if it's not age that causes this severe discomfort, what is it? Believe it or not, the culprit may be your sleep habits and the position you sleep in.

3 Fighting Sleep Apnea
Written by: Dr. Joseph J. Berke | Distributed: 2004-08-20 |
Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that currently affects approximately eighteen million Americans. Unfortunately, this sleep disorder is often ignored due to the fact that the leading sleep apnea symptom is simply loud snoring, which many people do not consider a concern severe enough to warrant a consultation with a physician. There are two forms of sleep apnea; obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea.

4 You Don't Have to Live With Stiff Neck Pain
Written by: Dr. Joseph J. Berke | Distributed: 2004-08-11 |
Getting quality sleep has, for many, become an elusive goal in the modern day. We work longer hours, take less time off, and try to overcompensate by micromanaging what little free time is available to in order to enjoy all facets of our lives. More and more of us are becoming aware that we are fatigued, and this is further exaggerated by the countless advertisements and commercials that discuss the number of Americans who are not getting good sleep. Many of us wake up daily with sore muscles and stiff necks. Nothing is more tiresome than the combination of exhaustion and neck pain.

5 Overcoming the Torture of a Snoring Partner
Written by: Dr. Joseph J. Berke | Distributed: 2004-08-05 |
Nothing is quite as frustrating as trying to sleep and hearing the guttural sounds of your loved one next to you snoring. It was supposed to be for better or for worse, but no one told you anything about endless nights of being woken up by the frustrating sounds, the bags under your eyes that would follow, and the necessity for you to consume five cups of coffee a day just to stay awake. As bad as snoring may be for the person who has to listen to it, it can also negatively affect the person doing it. People who snore tend to get a less restful night's sleep and will feel more fatigued throughout the day.
