The Right Way To Start Your Vacation: An Hotel In The Centre Of Florence
Copyright (c) 2009-2012 Roberta Nardi
If you are lucky enough to be traveling to Tuscany what is the best way to start your vacation there? In every way Florence is the heart of Tuscany. Historically, artistically, culturally and geographically the centre of beautiful Tuscany is the amazingly beautiful seat of the Medicis. When you are planning traveling to Florence, Italy, hotel booking immediately comes to mind as a priority. When a city has the attraction capabilities that exist here the options for lodging are enormous.
As you plan, what are the things you should look for? One of the primary things that will make your trip that much more enjoyable is finding a hotel in the centre of Florence. Florence is not a huge city by any standard, with a population of under a half a million. This means that almost everything a tourist would like to absorb is within walking distance of the historical centre. In under 15 minutes you can be at the Uffizi, the Duomo or any of a myriad of beautiful piazza. Add a little stair climbing and a few more minutes and the walk to Piazzale Michelangelo offers one of the most stunning views in all of Florence, Italy. Hotel booking aside, access to all of the leather markets and shopping that the city is known for make being in the centre the best choice.
Another factor that makes the choice of reserving a hotel in the centre of Florence so great for so many travelers is that the Santa Maria Novella train station is a stone's through from the city centre. What can this do for you, the ardent traveler? The train service in Italy can get you anywhere you want on every day of the year except strike days. Everything you want to see in Tuscany is about an hour or less by train. You would like to go to Palio in Siena but not deal with the inability to find a room there? Just stay in Florence another day, the train will have you there in less than an hour while you relax with your friends, family or a book while others deal with traffic. Carnivale in Viareggio? A day in the picturesque town of Arezzo? All are convenient to the historical centre. Hop back on the train and head back to Florence, looking over all the great photos you took and ponder the great dinner you will have when you get back.
When you have taken care of all of the details of traveling to Florence, Italy; hotel booking, flight, currency exchange and a city map you can relax and enjoy. The city thrives on tourism and knows how to take care of and guide you. Conveniently ensconced in your hotel in the centre of Florence you will be perfectly set to enjoy Tuscany to its fullest. Marveling at Brunelleschi's dome, the art of the Uffizi and all that the birthplace of the Renaissance has to offer and also exploring the beautiful rolling hills of the countryside and the languid Mediterranean beaches, what could be better?

One is the weather. While Toronto has a pretty mild climate
for a Canadian city, and it does experience four distinct
seasons, its winters can be a bit harsh. You can expect

expensive. It's often rated as the most expensive city in
Canada in which to live. So while there's plenty for your
family to do in Toronto, you'll need to pay attention to
