For Increasing Profits, Flowers Are A Better Gamble Than Poker
Copyright (c) 2006-2010 Wesley Berry, AAF
There's no doubt that it's fun to win a little money on a good poker hand, but most people would agree that it's not the best way to put some extra money in your pocket. In fact, for those of us who lack a good poker face, it's a really bad idea! However, there's an easy way for business people to increase their profits without taking a big gamble, and this sure-fire profit booster is available to everyone and in every community. Want to know what the secret is? Flowers!
Let's face it, today's business world is tough. There's a constant struggle to gain and keep a foothold in the market place, and no matter how successful a company is, there's always a certain level of stress involved. All that stress can really take a toll on your employees, their morale, and their productivity. But, a recent study conducted by a Texas A&M University research team provided some valuable information about how flowers can help improve the overall morale and productivity of any workplace-and they might even boost sales!
Among the findings of this important eight-month study of the effects of flowers in the workplace were these interesting results:
Men and women exhibited more innovative thinking when flowers and plants were present.
Both men and women generated more ideas, with men producing an impressive 15% more ideas.
Women produced more creative and flexible solutions.
The study was led by Roger Ulrich, Ph.D., Behavioral Scientist, Director of the Center for Health Systems and Design, Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Dr. Ulrich had this to say of the research results, "Our research shows that a change as simple as adding flowers and plants can be important in the most meaningful way to businesses in the modern economy. People's productivity, in the form of innovation and creative problem solving, improved - which in certain circumstances could mean the difference between mild and great business success."
With results like these, it's clear that simply placing plants and flowers in key areas of your place of business could help you and your employees to boost productivity. And, since flowers make people happy, it's not much of a stretch to consider that your customers who come in contact with the flowers will feel more cheerful, too-which just might prompt them to purchase additional products and keep them coming back for more. So, why not put away the cards and stop practicing your poker face; put some extra money in your pocket the easy way-call your florist!

Christian Church. Like its Jewish predecessor Passover, it is a
movable feast, based on the lunar calendar rather than falling on
the same Sunday every year. It is a joyous festival and a time of
redemption.

It's a sad fact that the American culture lacks in romance-a
recent survey conducted by Brusking/Goldring Research for the
Society of American Florists (SAF) revealed just how bad the
situation is. According to the survey, only 19 percent of men
rate themselves as at least a seven on a scale of one to 10. Even
worse, women agree! Only 19 percent of them rank their husbands
or significant others as at least a seven.

Which holiday is the biggest for flower sales? I'll bet you're

certainly big, but it's Christmas that draws more customers
into flower shops than any other holiday. Perhaps that's
because flowers bring a festive feel to any room they adorn
