A Checklist Of Alternative Cancer Treatments and Cancer Therapies
Copyright (c) 2009-2010 Eliot Beard
Cancer, the life threatening disease is curable if detected at an early stage. It is usually treated by three methods which include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical treatment or a combination of the above said treatments.
Given the ugly side effects that are so common with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, a lot of medical consumers have began to explore alternative cancer treatments. Millions of people around the world have turned to the exploration of alternative cancer treatments these days. While not always a guarantee of cancer recovery, alternative treatments often offer the hope that the medical community is unable to offer.
Alternative cancer therapies can also be used in adjunct with the traditional cancer therapies. There are different therapies available in cancer treatment such as biological and pharmacological therapies, immune therapies, herbal therapies, nutritional therapies and metabolic therapies.
The following three alternative cancer treatments are listed among the mostly used treatments:
ACID/ALKALINE BALANCE: In this method the acid/alkaline balance of the body is corrected by supplying proper mineralization by using certain acid neutralizing minerals like calcium and magnesium. Other minerals like potassium, rubidium and cesium are also used. It has been suggested that cancer cells die off when they subjected to high PH levels. Therefore, the theory is that when these elements are taken, they will alkalinize and kill the cancer cells.
ADJUNCTIVE TREATMENTS: These are treatments that are used in conjunction with other cancer treatments. The various types of adjunctive treatments include detoxification, vitamin and supplements, water therapy and nutrition balancing. DETOXIFICATION means the removal of toxins from the body. This is considered to be a very important part of the treatment process. Herbal, homeopathic, and nutritional treatments can be used as method of detoxification. But, the simplest way to get rid of toxins in the body is to increase the amount of water intake.
The ELECTRONIC method: ELECTROTHERAPY was first introduced in Europe to combat cancer tumors. This method is most often used in adjunct with other cancer therapies. As an extension of this treatment method, skin cancers are treated by employing galvanic electrical stimulation. With the help of local anesthesia, a positively charged platinum, gold or silver needle is introduced into the tumor cells and the negatively charged needle is kept around the tumors. Depending on the tumor cells, 6- to 15-volts voltages are used to combat the cancerous tumor. Sometimes, small amount of chemotherapy agents are used in conjunction with the electrotherapy treatments. The stated reason for the effectiveness of this type of treatment is the same as with the acid / alkaline balance treatment - the PH change destroys the tumor cells.
Other treatments that are finding some interest include the following:
MAGNETIC RESONANCE OR BIO-RESONANCE: The bio-resonance methods have been used in Europe for about 23 years, but it is a process that has not yet been widely accepted outside of Europe.
RADIOWAVES: It has been suggested that radio waves with certain frequencies can destroy cancer cells, without disturbing the adjacent normal cells. If this treatment turns out to be effective, then chemotherapy and radiation will become much less attractive, in that both destroy the cancer cells AND other nearby cells.
RIFE MACHINES: These machines are claimed to destroy living pathogens, bacteria and cancer cells, which are not transmitting specific electronic signals.
Various other alternative cancer treatments are available which include DIET and FOOD THERAPIES. There are different types of diets advised like flax seed oil diet, hallelujah acres diet and a sugar free diet. Herbal extracts or plant products like Artemisia, radium weed, red clover, and saw palmetto are frequently mentioned in connection with the treatment of cancer.
IMMUNOTHERAPIES are also used - they are frequently referred to as immune system boosters. Different immune system boosters include: agaricus mushrooms, aloe vera, carnivore, interferon, interleukin-2, and shark liver oil.
OXYGEN and OZONE TREATMENTS include usage of hydrogen peroxide, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and ozone therapy.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Wheat grass vaccines, zappers and anti-parasitic herbals are also used as methods to treat cancer. These treatments are most often used in conjunction with traditional cancer treatments.
Above all, you need to educate yourself about the possible alternatives. You should not trust that your doctors will tell you about some or most of these treatments, so you need to learn for yourself whether these cancer treatments could possibly offer you more hope for surviving cancer.
And finally, you must keep in mind that it is generally against the law in the United States for sellers of supplements or medical services "to offer a cure". This is the reason why most of these alternative cancer treatments will only be described as "treatments" or "therapies". It is true that you might see a personal testimonial from someone on the Internet about how they were "cured" of cancer, but companies cannot legally offer anecdotal information about how their products or services were used to "cure cancer". So, for the doctors and lawyers in my audience... Here is what you are looking to see:

Eliot Beard never thought much about cancer, until his dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and given only a couple months to live. Contrary to his dad, Eliot has never really trusted the medical establishment and doctors - he sees medicine as an industry that sells potions and treatments, rather than focusing on cures. Eliot's dad finally came around to his way of thinking, and so far, "two months to live" has turned into six months of life. Each year more and more research is conducted on how to reduce
your risk of developing cancer. For some forms of cancer, it's
fairly simple to understand how to reduce risk. For example, we
know that most lung cancer victims are smokers, and that many
cases of skin cancer are caused by unprotected over exposure to
the sun. For other cancers, understanding how to reduce our risk
is not so simple, because we don't really understand what
causes them.

fact that the body can detoxify by itself, it is also a fact
