Starting A Home Business: Step 4
Copyright © 2005, Ken Leonard Jr

After Step 3 of this series, if you've been doing your homework,
you should have your home business legally created and your
professional internet marketing tools set up and ready to go. By
now you've also done your keyword and ad research which produced
a profitable keyword phrase for your product idea. If your
product idea turns out to not be in demand or the prospects won't
pay for it, it's time to try another idea and repeat the research
    process.

(Here's Step 3 if you missed it) http://kenleonardjr.com/step3

Now it's time to write a sales page for your product, build a
simple website and set up the ordering and fulfillment system.

The first part of this lesson may be difficult for you. You have
to create a sales page for your product or service that will be
the main page of your web site. Crafting a sales letter for a web
page that is focused on your product keywords and entices the
visitor to buy your product is an art.

You may not be able to write effective sales copy in the
beginning. But after time and a lot of practice, copywriting will
be the most valuable talent you have as an online marketer.

To get your first product site up and making sales, you may want
to pay a professional copywriter to create a winning sales
letter. It's going to cost you, but you get what you pay for. If
you want to take the time to learn to write sales copy for the
web on your own, here is a helpful tutorial from a professional
    copywriter to start you out:

Once you have your sales letter, it is time to build your website
and add the order links to the sales page. Copy the text version
of your sales letter and paste it into your webpage editor. If
you don't have Dreamweaver or FrontPage to help you create web
pages, you can find a free resource available here:
    http://www.nvu.com/index.html

Keep your page design basic yet appealing to the eye. You can
create one page design and use it as a template for every page
you add to your site. Doing this will save you lots of time later
on. If you need some pointers on creating web sites that sell,
the bible of web site design that makes sales can be found here:
    http://www.kljonline.com/mys.html

When creating the main sales page, you will need a link to your
ordering system at every Buy button. If you set up your marketing
    tools using ThirdSphere Hosting http://hosting.ken-recommends.com
just enter your product details into the automation station and
you will get an order URL to use at every Buy button. If you
chose Host4Profit as your web host http://hosting.kljonline.com
get your order URL directly from the payment processor you set up
in Step 2 of this series, 2CheckOut.

Your website is now set up to convert visitors into buyers,
process the order and have the order delivered either by shipping
yourself, using a drop shipper or by secure digital download. In
Step 5 you will learn how to set up a lead capture and follow up
system that plugs into the marketing system you have set up. This
process will convert more of your site visitors into customers
through repeated exposure to your offer.

    Article Marketing Tips:
    • Stand out from the crowds. Educate your prospects and they will turn to you for more knowledge. When they turn to you for more, they will visit your website. It is up to your website copy to sell your products, NOT your article. Provide great information and at your website, address how the prospect will benefit from what you are offering. Using these things in conjuction will help your cash register to ring.
