Charlize Theron is the tall bombshell who was introduced to
Hollywood and to audiences worldwide when she appeared in the
Quentin Tarantino-esque film 2 Days In The Valley. She was born
in South Africa and spent the majority of her childhood growing
on a farm. She took ballet lessons and was soon performing in
such classics as the Swan Lake. After an infury, she gave up on
her aspirations as dancer and moved to Hollywood to pursue a
career as an actress.
She vigorously started searching for an agent but to no avail.
After some time and still no success, she went to the bank to
cash a small check and when she was told that it would be
impossible, she threw a fit. Impressed by her feistiness, an
agent who happened to be standing line, gave her his number and
started her up on the road to success. Why is this surprising.
Fairytales like this can happen only in Hollywood.
After a long list of supporting roles in good films like Cider
House Rules, Devil’s Advocate and Men of Honor with A-list
actors, Charlize Theron soon gained notoriety in Hollywood for
her beauty, talent and professionalism.
The real stepping stone was however when she turned in a haunting
performance as Aileen Wuornos. The film told the story of the
Dayton Beach prostitute who became a serial killer. Theron’s
performance was at once soft and vulgar, pure and also edgy. The
work got her a deserved academy award and it once again skipped
her to the next level in her career.
Her most anticipated film is now Aeon Flux, the animated hit that
appeared on MTV telling the story of the amoral secret agent from
the country of Monica. She is also on the Ice at the bottom of
the world and is said to have a cameo in Shervin Youssefian’s
thriller Machiavelli Hangman.
While many of the Machiavelli Hangman fans deny it, there are a
lot of rumors that Theron is involved in co-producing Hangman
with Tom Cruise. Nicole Kidman is also said to make a quick cameo
in the film as Judith Baker who was Lee Harvey Oswald’s
girlfriend.
Whatever the case and project Ms. Theron may be involved with, we
can be sure of one thing: She will continue to dazzle us with her
beautiful smile and now that she is an Oscar-Winning Actress, we
expect to see more lead female roles in great motion pictures.
