Many Internet marketers, myself included, advise new
netrepreneurs not to go into the Internet marketing
niche. It's simply too competitive. However, if you still
insist upon making this your niche, here's how.
One of the easiest ways to become established in any
industry is to associate with those already successful at
what you'd like to do. For Internet marketing that means
attending the gatherings top Internet marketers attend.
To keep track of which top Internet marketer is speaking
at which events, you should visit and bookmark:

Also join the website's mailing list while there.
Make a point of attending some of these seminars. There
may be one near you. At the seminars, make a point of
introducing yourself to the speakers. Also make a point
of joining the speakers, or well-known personalities over
dinner, after-hours, or while they're sitting around in
the hotel lobby. They're generally very approachable.
The reason it's so important that you actually hang
out with top Internet marketers is because people like
to help their friends. It's your job to get to know them
and BECOME one of their friends.
Attending Internet marketing events is also the only way
that I know of to see how things are really done. Reading
about them is not as insightful as actually witnessing
how top Internet marketers operate. Many of the people
you'll meet at these events that aren't speakers will also
be very successful online marketers. The audience will
be full of serious business people who are investing
heavily in building relationships and their businesses.
Another way to become a top Internet marketer is to do
something outrageous that propels you into the limelight.
Create a killer product... promote your products in an
innovative way, and then make sure that the market takes
note of your outrageousness. Use press releases, articles,
and blogging to tell the world about your accomplishments.
Everybody loves a winner! Become one and then let the world
know.
Another way to get noticed, and established as a top
Internet marketer, is to work on a project with someone
from the "in crowd." This both gets you noticed by those
working on the project along with you, AND causes your
prospective customers to view you as in the same "class"
as the others involved on the project.

even former U.S. presidents. I will be able to contact
some of these people in the future, and use the fact that
I worked on the projects with them as a way to get my foot
in the door for other ventures.
Another way to become a top Internet marketer is to simply
DECIDE that you're going to be one of the "big dogs." That's
what I did... to an extent. Once you decide that you ARE
going to be one of the big successes, things fall into
place to make it possible.
It's a principle not really understood by the average
person, but when you REALLY decide that you're going to
make something happen, forces/events naturally align to
make this a reality. One of the best explanations I have

You often need the help of someone who is already at the
top of your industry in order to rise to the top yourself.
To get that help, you need to gradually establish contact
with those who can mentor and help you. Invoke the natural,
inviolate Law Of Reciprocity by doing something for them
first. Don't ask them to do anything for you before you do
something for them. Also don't expect a one-for-one
payback. The person you helped, may later repay you by
introducing you to someone who is more aligned with your
objectives.
Don't expect top Internet marketers, receiving hundreds,
even thousands, of emails daily to trip over themselves to
help you. They get dozens of people asking them to mentor
them every week, so it will generally take time to establish
a relationship, and to also prove that you are serious.
Persistence does pay off but it IS necessary for you to
demonstrate that you are both serious and capable.
A nice way to break through the clutter and get the
attention of a top Internet marketer that you want to work
with is via plain old "snail mail." Send them a card,
letter, or courier package, to break through the email
clutter. A nice way to do that, and build your network of
contacts at the same time, is to use the system that I use

weapons.
I already mentioned persistence. It is an essential
when you want to be the very best, and when you want to
work with the very best. Ken McArthur often shares that he
had to pursue Jim Daniels for a while before Jim partnered with
him to launch Affiliate Showcase. This site now makes both men,
and thousands of affiliates, a FORTUNE.
I follow up with target JV partners over a period of months using
the card system above. You can set up a campaign where you send

Do the things above... being persistent... and you can become
a top Internet marketer. I do recommend choosing a niche where
your competitors will be less savvy about marketing, but if you
choose to ignore that advice, at least listen to my advice on how
